Dena McMillon-Billups is passionate about inspiring women to learn and find their worth. She strives to educate and help them rise above adversity. Nowhere is Dena's work more needed than in marginalized communities; therefore, she focuses much of her attention there, helping people find their voice.
In her book, Naked: Stripping to the Core in 40 Days, Dena encourages women to to move beyond false self-projection, tell their own stories, and not let others write their narratives.
Dena notes that it’s important to invest in yourself. She invested in training so she could understand the concepts that are impactful in people’s lives. When Dena coined her concept, “Activate Right Thinking,” it stemmed from the art of perception. Change your perception and you can change your life.
In this week’s episode of Motivational Mondays, you’ll learn how Dena used her personal experiences to become a mentor to teen mothers, the mission of Dena’s program, Activate Right Thinking, and the importance of expanding leadership opportunities by eradicating the “poverty mindset.”
