Mitzi Short is an executive coach, speaker, co-founder and CEO of New Season Coaching & Consulting Group, and a founding member of The Band of Sisters (https://thebandofsisters.com). Mitzi is also the co-author of You Should Smile More (https://thebandofsisters.com/you-should-smile-more-the-book). The book is full of actionable advice on how we, as a collective, can fight gender bias.
Much research has been done on the subject but not on what to do when you come across it. Mitzi and other women feel that bystanders are responsible for speaking up if they see bias or harassment happening.
She also states that men are important allies in dismantling a system where women are deemed less than equals. When you recognize that you're contributing to gender bias, the next step is taking action.
In this episode you’ll learn about The Band of Sisters, why Mitzi gives actionable advice in her book, and debunking stereotypes and stigmas of women in the workplace.
